Would anyone be up for seeing Common Rotation? For those who don't know, Adam Busch is in them (he played Warren in Buffy) and they're kind of folk-rock in a They Might Be Giants vein. They're playing in London and Manchester on the 4th and 5th October respectively, and blackgarden says they're amazing live. I would go on my own, but gigs are always more fun ( Read more... )

Hmm. I'd heard that Warren was in a band. I'd heard that they were sort of geek rock ish (much as you'd expect really). The mention of TMBG, however, I hadn't come across. Could be worth checking out, I s'pose.

It'll most likely be a sea of squealing female Buffy fans who would lap up anything from Adam Busch, even if it was him playing Yiddish songs on the banjo or something. But I'm just cynical... there are a couple of MP3s at the site if you're curious.

Didn't know he was in a band, i thought that Buffy had quite a few cast members in bands then i realised i could only think of one which was Spike! Is Oz? or is he just in the shows fictional band?

Although i'm sure i saw CD Anthony Head had out for sale in a Forbidden Planet catalogue once.

I can't believe uni for you is only a week away! I'm hopeless when it comes to clothes shopping and being stylish. So i guess its best to get stuff that you won't have to iron too often or too many white clothes in case they get ruined in the wash when you are at uni. I dunno, just some ideas:)

Nope, Oz's band in the show had their music provided by a group called Four Star Mary. AFAIK, Seth Green doesn't have musical aptitude, but I could be wrong.

James Marsters, aka Spike, was in a band called Ghost of the Robot who have since disbanded as he wanted to 'concentrate on other things'. Which, having heard them, was no loss to the music world. Also, Christian Kane did some solo work under the name 'Kane' (not to be confused with a boyband doing the rounds at the moment) and Anthony Head did release a CD, as well as appearing in the Rocky Horror Picture Show as Frank n' Furter several years back.

Eek, I know way too much about Buffy. That's what happens when you lack a social life from ages 13-19...

They're wonderful, but not so much a dancey band. I haven't even seen them with a drummer in a year or so.

Also, I've met tons of people at the shows. Even if you don't go with someone, you can probably meet a few people already there.

Hmph, I like dancing, or at least bouncing, at gigs. I hope it won't be the sort of thing where everyone sits down crosslegged with a tea light and a glass of red wine.

Meeting people is not easy. It's daunting enough meeting up with online friends, let alone random people at a gig.
