Three days until I'm out of here!

Quote of the day? This idiot on SoulSeek:

Him: "its cool to download from u man"
Me: "Man? I'll have you know I'm a lady!"
Him: "in america man is a phrase liek dude not for an actual man"

In other news, I think I've become addicted to butterscotch schnapps. I'm also going back to visit blackgarden in December after an impulsive ticket purchase at 3:30am, ( Read more... )

How long are you going to be at The Abby's for? It'd be fun if we could organize a get-together again, even if it meant hmfeelyat and I going up there this time.

they want to search my luggage, and find the 48 Nurofen Plus and 50 melted Cadbury flakes I'm smuggling for Abby.

If there's room, please also smuggle me some Peanut Lion bars. The ones with the blue wrapper. :P

I'm at Abby's for three weeks, from December 15th to January 5th. Will you still be in the Bay Area in December? If so, I'd love to go back there, and maybe catch some gigs and see a bit more of the place than Heidi's house and Jay dopplegangers. If not, it'd be nice to visit anyway, and perhaps see a bit more of the USA.

How do you know about Lion bars? In any case, they will be smuggled, though in all probability, I'll eat most of them while waiting for the plane to taxi onto the runway.

Yep, as far as I know I will still be here in December. You should definitely try and see more of San Francisco while you're here. I've even gotten pretty good at playing tour guide. The weather will be shitty, but no shittier than it is any other time of year. :) I'm sure some good shows would be going on at some point while you're here. (Look at the schedule as of now, though. It's scary!!

There's lots of nice, non-Jay-related spots in Marin County too (where Heidi lives), although how pleasant they would be would also depend on the weather. The Bay Area is pretty mild, so it's not necessarily freezing and raining in the winter.

You actually can get Lion Bars here at a few fancy-pants grocery stores like Mollie Stone's -- but only the regular ones, with the brown wrappers. My friend countblastula is obsessed with them and when I went to England 4 summers ago he demanded I bring him back a stash of the Peanut ones.

Thanks for the info! You sound like a great tour guide, and will definitely get some Lion bars from me. Why not let immigration think I'm acting as some sort of chocolate baron? It would make for some amusing headlines.

Hopefully I can talk Abby into perhaps spending the first few days, or last few days of my trip in San Francisco. Come to think of it, there might be some pretty nifty new year celebrations there. Shame I'm not yet legally able to drink...

My brother got told off for going from Canada to the US with only $50 and no change of clothes. He was going to pick up the suitcase that the US bus company lost on the way to Canada...

US immigration are wonderful. They queried me for ages about my occupation and family background in England, yet happily let me through security with several packets of medication containing codeine and enough English confectionery to start my own newsagents out there.

Is your brother still out there? I hope his trip's going/went well.

It's going better now he's not trying to find his luggage! We think he's grown up a bit recently - he seems much calmer than he was. It's doing him good.

Let's just hope that they stick to the retinal scan and don't do a cavity search. :P

So, when do you get here and how long are you staying?

If Dubya is re-relected, I'll be surprised if they don't end up doing cavity searches on unemployed, shifty-looking Britons. And when that day happens, The Abby will visit me.

I get here on the 15th December, and leave on January 5th, hence staying for three weeks.

Yay, fun! We should plan a road trip!

I figure that if mine and Abby's organisational skills are combined, we might just be able to get a decent road trip together if we started planning now. :P

Also, I wish I was coming over sooner so I could take advantage of $2 Snow Patrol. Pah!
