I'm sure when our Web Design lecturer asked his students for an example of an interesting and entertaining website, and probably expecting something like eBay or Amazon, he didn't really want to be pointed to seemerot.com. Well, it amused me at least ( Read more... )

I hear that song pretty much every time I work, complete with pissheads screaming the chorus!

I'm certain that's the kind of thing that you can take industrial action against. At least you're getting paid to hear it. ;)

Hey Alice, it's Louise, replying to the note you left me on my livejournal.
Sorry to hear you're surrounded by RnB lovers! I was in a similar situation last year, it really sucked. Luckily I've got a second chance - I'm back in halls again. I'm in Henry Price this time, where are you?
I was beginning to worry I'd never meet anyone who liked gigs and/or Buffy! What music are you into? Ooh, and this might be a bit weird seen as we've never met, but I was supposed to be going to see Razorlight on Sunday (at the union) with a friend but she can't come now so I have a ticket going spare if you fancy coming with me. It's £11. Feel free to say no though, if it's not your thing.
Louise xx

Just had a thought...in case I don't check my livejournal in time and you do wanna come, here's my mobile number - just give me a text or something.
Hope you don't think I'm being over-friendly!!

Don't be silly -- I understand the enthusiasm of meeting people with semi-mutual interests, and will text you with my mobile number. I'm in Tetley Hall, home of hideous 1970s curtains with cigarette burns on them, and paper-thin walls.

Seeing Razorlight doesn't seem worth it to me -- saw them live three times last year, and am really trying to save some money t the moment. There are a few people on the Leeds Union message board who want tickets, if I recall.

Are you a member of the indie society? They've got two nights on next week: Trash at Bar Phono on Monday, and Panic at The Cockpit on Wednesday, so it'd be nice to meet up with some people rather than going on my own and looking nervous. It's quite sad that I've been here for two weeks without investigating The Cockpit, isn't it?

Liverpool Uni doesn't seem to /have/ an indie society. I've joined the Rock Soc. in desperation, but their website links to Kerrang! so I doubt I'll be attending many meetings.
