Operation Clark County is basically the Guardian's way of giving non-American citizens a chance to influence the American election. You enter your email address, and are given a name and address of a random resident of Clark County, Ohio, an incredibly marginal area with regards to voting. Or, it may make them feel deeply suspicious, stalked or offended as you've got no guarantee over whose address you receive. If someone wrote to me with a 10-page letter on how I should vote Tory, they'd probably get a mail bomb back, but I can see why some people would be enthused by this.

Yes quite, this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lame. Another reason I am glad I defected to the Indie.

I have no idea where Clark County, Ohio is.

I'd be so miffed if some website, even if it's a national newspaper, was giving out my name and address. And, I don't need outside help making up my mind, whether it's from some foreigner or a domestic lobbying group. It makes me want to kick stuff.

I entered my address just for a laugh and to see who I'd get, and ended up getting someone who lived in Springfield. Which amused me.

Do the participants in the US get a say in this? It seems like middle-class liberal wanking to me as it does nothing but make smug Grauniad readers feel like they've done something.
