The Devil You Know

Okay, I have to talk about Gossip Girl. I didn't try this show out in the beginning because the title offended me, and for the most part I don't like "teen shows". Buffy was an oddity, and Veronica Mars wasn't the typical teen show until season 3, which I hated. The fact that Gossip Girl was created by the creators of the O.C. also didn't sit in ( Read more... )

I love that you now like Gossip Girl. Another show we can squee together on. I'm not going to read the analysis part yet as I haven't seen tonight's show.

And yes - his looks do scream English.

lol. What an amazing stream of consciousness. Glad you're enjoying newfound giddy, shipworthy-yet-doomed crack!

<3 to you for this I don't need to 'ship on every show I watch

That pic says, darling I'm gonna snuggle up behind you and whisper naughty things ...in an English accent. ;)

You LOVE it when I ramble! And I would pay good money to get you to do that same. *poke* Be on LJ more and fangirl, dammit! *pokepokepoke*

And it is true, I don't need a ship to enjoy a show or want to be fannish about it. Sometimes you just love the story you are given, even when it isn't a romantic one.

*giggles*

I searched for Ed Westwick on Youtube to see what he sounded like because I couldn't place him from the picture. And you know what? If you like his accent you would LOVE it where I live (North East London) because they all sound like that round here...

You know it actually isn't the accent, as he doesn't use it on Gossip Girl. It is the timbre of his voice. I am used to British accents; my father is from Glasgow, and we have family friends from Aberdeen, London, Dublin, and Liverpool. And like everywhere, there are people who carry off their accent well and sound lovely, and others that sound horrible.

Watch the following two clips, they were the first set that my cousin made me watch. The first clip is actually longer than what I originally saw, but around 1:40 a drag queen asks Chuck (played by Ed) who the girl up on stage is, and his reply of "I have no idea" is what made me fall instantly in love with his voice. I have an aural fetish, don't judge me!

The second clip is straight shippiness. :D
