Okay, fair warning, I had big issues with this episode. I LOVE that the boys are back, and that we got some new information, but the episode was weak and there are things that really stuck out as lame as all hell. Is it next week(minus the school in between) yet?
Dean: I hate witches... Always spewing their bodily fluids everywhere, it's down right unsanitiary!
The fact that Dean would speak about unsanitary conditions is just hilarious! Of allt he things for him to focus on. Oh DEAN! Btw, Jensen is looking very tan in this episode; I guess the makeup girls sent him to Bronzage again.

Screamin' Jay Hawkins - I put a spell on you
Both songs in a matter of a minute... HOLY CRAP! It was the cheesy 80's hair band and then the kick ass blues rock took over as the evil came into play. LOVE IT! Though they could have let Screamin' Jay play A LOT longer!!!
NEAT - the demon got mad that the little witchy lost control. I like it! Go demon!
Dean: Why does the rabbit always get the raw end of the deal?
Awwww Dean loves rabbits! I wonder if he had one as a kid? I wonder if this an inside joke that I am missing... we already had Dean think that he got someone pregnant, so it isn't that the bunny died... I think we should make icons out of the bunny, and use it to represent all SPN fic and vid bunnies!
The book club is EVIL!@ LOL!!! I wonder what this will do to Dean's love of Oprah?
Okay, on to the things that annoyed me: Way to go confusing Satanic worship with old school Witchcraft with the dialogue you gave Dean. That BETTER have been Dean playing up the cop angle because Witches DO NOT worship Satan; there is NO Satan in the craft. Satan is a Christian invention! And I have known Satanists, and as far as I know they don't consider themselves to be witches, even the ones who incorporate mysticism into their practices.
Why are we still using repeat footage of the Impala this season? This one was from Devil's Trap.

OKay, Dean and Ruby should fight often because this is FUN! Also, thank you for showing some chemistry with the boys, could you please tell Bela that she was suppose to do the same; I think she missed the memo on that one.
Ruby: You care about your brother so much that you are checking out in a few months and leaving him alone. At least let me try to save him since you won't be around to do it anymore.
Yep. It is official! I LOVE RUBY!!!! Dean needs a reality check, he is fighting everything Sam is throwing at him, which is a little annoying since we had that big heart to heart in Fresh Blood. Even if Dean can't be saved, why is he not fighting his ass off? And I don't mean taking stupid chances and putting himself in harms way like he was doing at the beginning of the season, I mean kicking ass and taking names, if for no other reason than to stack the odds in Sam's favour once he is on his own. FIght HARDER Dean!
Sam's reaction to Ruby was a little too 0 to 60 shaken than could be truly believed, and I feel like there was something that was taken out of here for time. Dean is losing all his control whenever people point out the truth, so thank you Sam for stopping Dean from taking out Ruby, she is NEEDED! The truth hurts, Dean.
Dean: We are suppose to drive in the friggin' car, and we are suppose to argue about this stuff.
Awwww.. best line of the episode in my opinion. It is just such a big Dean brother thing to say. :D
Dean: You want to kill me? Get in line bitch!
Ruby: Stop calling me Bitch!
I didn't like this scene except for this exchange. I think a lot of this episode worked as pieces but not a cohesive whole. Ruby works in any scene where she is interacting with the brothers, however, her scenes with other demons fall FLAT, as we saw later.
Tammy: Nice dick work Magnum.
There is just way too much slang and cliche talk in this epy, like they are trying to fit in as many one liners as possible. This doesn't impress me, it stood out and annoyed me to not end. I kept wanting to tape every ones mouths shut. And I've actually seen this actress who plays Tammy before, and wow was she bad here!
Tammy versus Ruby = Faith versus Buffy, knife and all!
Why are they making Dean so useless? He gets thrown against a wall in EVERY episode and always gets his ass kicked. At the end of the episode Ruby asks Dean to help her get Sam ready, and Sam says that he needs to be more like Dean to survive after Dean is gone... ummm... WHY? Being like Dean, and with Dean's help means that Sam will die sooner rather than later if this season is anything to go by. Remember when the guys fought demons on their own and won? I need to rewatch season 1 to remember the good times when the boys were competent.
Conquistador motel = YAY
Flashing lights = DEMONS. FUCKING RUN!!! Oh wait, just Ruby, nevermind!
Ruby: That is what hell is. Forgetting what you were.
I like this line. It fits well with Sam's quest to figure out who he truely is.
Dean: The devil may care after all.
The only cliche line that WORKED! It is all about Jensen's delivery, I tell ya.
Ruby: Look at you, trying to be all stoic. My God it's heartbreaking.
Is Ruby an audience member, or just the most aware character on this show? Don't let him brood, force him out of it, don't let him be Angel, get his butt moving, give him a mission again.

Ruby: Isn't it obvious? I'm not like them. I wish I was, but I'm not; I remember what its like.

Ruby: Being human.
Was the ending written by someone else? This last bit WORKED! And it is the reason why I think that The Awakening needs to be involved with any and all fanart/fanmix/vid that is made about this episode. Also, can someone tell Cassidy not to walk away from Jensen because when she is facing him she does really well, but the moment she turns away it is like a light turns off.
ETA: Loved the origin of a demon mythology, I just wish that it had been delivered in a better episode. It does confuse a little though, since in many belief systems the demons were fallen angels, so unless they want to either discard angels all together (in which case what was the "Heaven lost without you" comment?), or say that humans are angels, you pretty much have to throw out A LOT of preconceived notions for this one to work. I do like the concept though, and I think they have room to use this. Are they going to have the big talk about Dean possibly becoming a demon and Sam having to kill him? It would explain why Dean confronted Sam about the killing of humans again. Hmmm... stuff to think about.
And now we know that Dean CANNOT be saved... at least not in any way that Ruby knows. WELL THEN... Sam needs his powers back, and with the power to control demons he can get Dean out of this. It really does HAVE to be Sam at this point. I'm convinced!
