Dean threw in the idea that Sam could have been dreaming about a man… does that strike you as something a writer uncomfortable with homosexual fanfic would do?

People really think that?!? I giggled so HARD when Dean said that, as I was CERTAIN that the writer's were throwing fandom a bone. Kind of like Spike in AtS referring to him and Angel: "Well, except for that one time." I'm not a Wincest girl, but I'm CERTAIN that the writers are well aware of it (rewatching S1 and S2 right now and I can't help but find all of the little references tossed here and there. This totally seemed like one of those). I seriously think some people just like to complain because it makes them feel special.

And just because Dean loved his father, doesn’t mean that he has to hero worship him forever. Yes! I was so glad to see Dean start to lose it like that! Because as much as I love John, it is quite obvious that Dean has some worth issues as a result of how he was raised. And I loved that Dean was so distraught with emotions at the time that he could

What is truly f-ed up about Sam dreaming about Bela is that she SHOT HIM, and he still needs to get laid so badly that his mind gave him a sexy dream about her. :P

And as for Dean he knows that he can't give up hunting, not just for his brother but because he knows too much to ever just walk away and not try to help anyone. However, he has to be so tired at this point, and to let himself indulge in the fantasy that he could have a quiet, normal day, in which all he has to do is be loved has to be appealing at this point.

And whether it is Mary, Meg, or someone entirely new, I am just really looking forward to the show down that is going to take place between Sam and the Wicked Witch of the West.

I know!! The fact that she could have KILLED him (he was having the worst day ever afterall), is just an after thought for him. Which, would be sad if it wasn't so damn funny ;-P

Agreed. I think that in his day-to-day life, he is glad that Ben isn't his, because what kind of a life could he provide him? But, if it had turned out that Ben WAS his kid, it would have been such a balm to his soul. And I think he needs something like that right about now.

Hi, came in from a mention of this post by skybound2 and I have to say that I love this post. I came across some really frustrating posts and comment threads about this ep, but you expressed a lot of what I am entirely too lazy to type up.

What truly saddens me is the idea that the writers could come across the negativity when they delivered an AWESOME episode!

Some people are just never happy, and there are times that I just can't take it anymore and have to put my two cents in. :P
