Tales of the Black Freighter and Under the Hood story elements are being released seperately from the main movie, two weeks after the movie comes out.

There'll be an extended cut of the movie that intertwines it all later(in the Lord of the Rings, put a catheter in, you'll be on the couch awhile, style).

My husband is a huge comic fan, so I have been hearing about this movie for YEARS. I still haven't read the graphic novel and plan to see it.

:O

Watchmen was the only graphic novel to appear on Time's 2005 list of "the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present".

In 2008, Entertainment Weekly placed it at number 13 on its list of the best 50 novels printed in the last 25 years, describing it as "The greatest superhero story ever told and proof that comics are capable of smart, emotionally resonant narratives worthy of the label literature."

You don't even have to like comics to appreciate this gem. Read it!

You don't have to sell me on it - I just don't like superhero comics. I regularly read comics, and love tons of stuff by Alan Moore...I just want to see the movie without reading it first so I can enjoy the film without comparing it to something.

It's very loosely a "super-hero" comic.
