Post DH - considerations about houses

Hmm, I don't know if that's the right place to post this, but well, I'm a noob so feel free to tell me if not. :)

I was wondering how DH has changed the perspective of the houses, and if it will have consequences on both applying and sorting.

I've never been in a sorting, but I went a bit through other applications and well there were some so called 'slytherin pushs' or 'hufflepuff are tree huggers' comments, and I wondered if post DH this was going to change.

Well first of all, I was a bit disappointed how Slytherin got described in the books. I never believed the 'all Slytherins are evil dark wizards and pureblood supremacists' but alas, DH suggests this. I would have liked at least two or three Slytherins stay in the battle or be in the RoR, as I don't think that all supported Voldemort or the new regime, nor that all were DE children.
But sadly the students did not come along quite positive. Even the Head of House, Slughorn, only joins the battle after receiving a stern look from McGonagall.
I've never been neither a fan of Umbridge=Slytherin and could quite live with the 'Puff gone bad' theory, but everything suggests that she was a Slytherin.

The good things of Slytherins were based on individual motivations, mainly love. I mean, yes Snape was on the good side, but had he not been in love with Lily, he would have been a DE.
And the Malfoys in the end operate against Voldemort because of their love for their family. In fact, the love theme is pronounced in Slytherin. Even the Bloody baron is the passionate type.

Then the Hufflepuffs *tries not to be too proud* :D, I really hope that DH helps to dissuade that erroneous image they have of 'weaklings' and 'tree huggers'. I mean, second most people fighting, Ernie McMillan being the first in rising the voice to fight, Sprout / McGonnagall the terrorific team, Sprout and the Plant-Granades (AWESOME!)

As for Ravenclaw, even if I always had less affinity to that house (I'm not the academic type) I really thought that the background story of Rovenas daughter was interesting, and the password access to the tower just really cool.

As for Gryffindor, they really came along as the true heroes, with Neville and the sword and all this.

So well, that's a bit of random rambling, but I just wondered if opinions of houses have changed here, or if you think that people might feel differently to the houses.
