An in-depth "analysis" about the cover art

I had some in-depth thoughts of the covers, and I wasn't sure if I should post them as a comment to the original cover post or as a new post... I picked new post, but apologies if this seems redundant to you.

I definitely agree with your_downfall's comment about [on the U.S. hardback cover] that they're are not alone. It would also make sense that they were dead, not only because the whole 'ammunition' thing, but because who in their right mind would stand next to Voldemort while he was fighting? Unless, of course, the crowd is made up of DEs...

I just wanted to point out that, even though the veil theory makes sense, the U.S. "HP and the Sorcerer's Stone" cover has curtains fraiming it as well. Perhaps it just signals the end of the series and the curtains in SS signaled the beggining.
