It seems like things have finally quieted down now… I hope everyone has caught their breath after these past few weeks. But it seems as if in the confusion, Miss Aerith has left us. That’s such a shame, she was such a bright person… I had been hoping to get to know her better. I hope wherever she is now is a bright and cheerful place

Oh, wow, is it like... magic?

Hmmm... I don't really think so. I don't have to do anything but really think about it to make my paper react... and sometimes things happen when I'm not trying to do anything, like a knee-jerk reaction. I think magic is supposed to be more complicated then that.

Is that so? I'm afraid I don't know much about it aside from what I've read in books... this is the first thing I've remembered since I arrived at Memento Eden! Are you able to use magic?

You can make paper as strong as a knife. That's a metaphor, right? You mean you're just really good at getting paper cuts or something.

No, I'm being 100% literal. I can make the edges of a sheet of paper sharp enough to slice through rock and capable of stopping projectiles.

...I'm not lying, but I suppose it does sound so far-fetched that I understand why you'd believe that I was. If you require a demonstration of my ability, I'd be happy to oblige.

Is that some sort of magic, Yomiko? Paper mage . . . Has a nice ring to it.

No, it's not magic, I don't think. It feels more like a bond between me and the paper... Well, the best way I can think of describing it is, you know how when you make a friend, you sometimes do special things to please them? It feels kind of like that... only with paper.

Normally, I'd roll my eyes at such a claim, but if there's anything Memento Eden has given me, it's an open mind.

A paper fan, eh? Looks like you're settling into your new abilities quite nicely.

I think so! Although I'll need to apply myself and practice to get the control of it perfected. I've had no problems making the paper do what I want when I want it to... keeping it from doing things when I'm not meaning to... well, that's been a bit of a surprise.
