Writing

Since I've started working at Hunted Cow I've had to write parts for their new game. This has been mainly dialog for quests, as well as quest ideas themselves. I've haven't really written anything since school, I don't count my rp games, I barely wrote anything for them. That was all in my head. I find it strange writing things that people say. Kinda, sorta normal, depending on the context of your writing and work. If you're writing something 'casual' it's ok, if you're not, it's not.

It's a fantasy game. I'm finding that some characters are easy enough to write for, once I find the motivation then I can almost hear them telling me what they would say. For others, it's much harder and that's when I begin to worry if what I'm doing is right. I don't want to write high-fantasy stuff, but I also don't want to write modern day with fantasy words thrown in. If I don't believe what I'm writing, how can I expect anyone else to?

You just need to work through it - it's always normal to have a bit of trepidation when dealing with your own sriting, but one of the most important things to remember is that you won't be releasing it till others have looked at it ;) Your editor will poke you in the right direction if they're really worth thier salt :)
