"HALLELUJAH we're not gonna die, let's have sex!" Especially since they've been waiting a few years for it. But yeah, trying to write 18-y-o Haymitch (without his Games, since I wrote a post-Games 17-y-o Haymitch in "Nowhere to Stand") was definitely a change.

Too true. In my head, that was close to the end of his captivity, so it's been a good month of constant physical and psychological torture. It's probably around the time of his "drugged and totally fucked up to the point of incoherence" interview from HID, right before he rallies enough next time on camera with Snow since they've lessened his venom dosage. So at this point he's pretty much at his lowest.

Because it's Hunger Games AND NOBODY IS EVER TOTALLY HAPPY.

But there probably is some AU where this totally really did happen. I threw that prompt out there in all seriousness as "Just write me some smutty fluff," but then that idea latched onto me so I wrote it.
