As someone who gets completely retarded when speaking to the fairer sex one-on-one (brett can give many examples of a pretty girl talking to me and the resulting retardation on my part) I can offer up the following advice. Talk to the girl in a social situation (i.e. with other people around) that way, you're just making conversation in a group. once you get more comfortable, make your move. hope it helps.

Tommie, I know you don't really know me outside of work. But my advice is to go for it, because if this is the girl I'm thinking of, she told me the other day that she really liked you. She's a really nice girl (and cute too). Ask her to dinner or something. Can't go wrong there.
