Slumdog Millionaire
This is the movie that inspired me to check out bollywood, and I still listen to this soundtrack an obscene amount. I was so excited when it won best picture the year it came out. The entire film I just wanted Jamal and Latika to be happy and together, and I thought it was so enduring when Salim finally grew up and allowed the happy ending. I also find it ridiculously adorable the lead actors are still dating each other after working on this film together.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This movie continues to be one of my all time favorites and probably the best movie of Jim Carrey's in my opinion. Very heart-felt and made me think about alot of things. Everytime I watch it, I find something new or something I missed, which is something I love about movies.
Away We Go
Fueling my love for quirky and enduring independent films, this movie takes the cake. It's ridiculously sweet (I think everyone wants John Krasinski's character as a husband) and also very hilarious. It's about this couple who is about to have a baby and they're thinking of where they could raise her, so explore various cities where they know some people and kind of discover what they really want along the way.
And because I just can't pick 3 films, here's a bonus...
The Fall
This is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. The cinematography whore that I am, goes crazy with this one. I remember seeing the trailer in the independent film theater with a friend and immediately said, "I must see this movie." It took FOREVER for it to come out, and when I found out it had, I rushed and bought it. I never buy movies never having seen it before purchase, but I did with this one and haven't been disappointed yet. It's beautiful, moving, and also another one that allows you to catch new things upon each viewing you missed before. I'm pretty excited it has a bit of a cult following online, because it deserves it.
