[Action for 452 Stone Street: Agatha wakes up having no idea where she is.

That is sadly not as strange as it should be. There is now a frantic girl tearing the room apart looking for something, clearly she's somehow managed to keep her mother out, but who knows how long that's going to last. She needs to find her locket. In her search she manages ( Read more... )

You are in Mayfield. The name doesn't tell you much, I know.

Whatever you are missing, it wasn't lost. It was taken, no mater if it was a personal effect or special ability.

Whatever brought us here just brought you here, without -er- accessories.

It is gone for now. Whatever you need it for is likely gone as well.

I need you to focus and center. Look for mail - tell me your address.

[Okay the lady on the strange device has a point. Her mother should have taken over by now at least.]

...452 Stone Street.

All right, hon. It's going to take me a little bit to get there. Stay calm, make tea if that helps you. I'll be there soon.

[ Knocking at the door of 452 Stone Street a half-hour later. ]

[Agatha opens the door now dressed. She seems to have started to take a toaster apart if the parts in her hand are any indication.]

Hello?

[ She looks at the parts and smiles. ]

Ilsa Higa, we spoke on the telephone. I have some materials you might find helpful, if you have a moment?

[Her face lights up.]

You brought tools?! Good, I'm trying to build a death ray out of the parts in the kitchen but the house has almost nothing.

[She...let herself get distracted. Also without her spark ...the kitchen has been set on fire twice in the past half hour.]

No, not tools, not... [ She smells the burning kitchen. ] Not yet, at least.

Why don't I help you straighten out what's here, and get you up to speed?

[ Really helpful smile and not looking at the smoke curling out the door. ]

[Looks over.]

Not again!

[Runs back to the kitchen to put the new fire out. She sighs as she leans against the now...just smoking counter top.]

....I forgot how hard this is to do without my spark.

It's okay, hon. Looks like this is universal.

[ Sets her bag and gloves on the kitchen table, and starts in to help clean the damage. ]

It's hard to do without something you get used to, I know. I've been here a month, and still have to stop myself, sometimes.

Do you cook? Without the, er - the spark, I mean.

What?

[Don't mind her, just a little distracted by cleaning up the remains of the toaster.]

Ah, yes. It doesn't have anything to do with that.

Good, I know some chefs that get deep in the creative groove, kinda like what the spark sounds like to me, so it shouldn't cause you headaches to cook, then.

[ Good thing about being just shy of six feet tall is the ability to use some muscle on the counter-top to polish out the burned spot a little. ]

Just so you know, don't use anything the milkman delivers. From what I've been told, the dairy products at the store are safe. I went almost a week before finding that out, then I went nuts with the crème pâtissière.

[Putting the remains of the toaster in the garbage.]

Right, I'll keep that in mind.

There's... there is another aspect of the place that you should know about.

Even though this prison is a museum set piece, there are times when the regular program goes off the rails. The pamphlet can tell you more about the things that happened before I arrived. I didn't quite believe the power behind these things until I experienced one of them.

[ Ilsa's not very happy about this, but Agatha needs to know how Mayfield operates. ]

Last Sunday, by the American calendar, was Mother's Day. Normally, that would mean nothing to a lot of the people here. But the guys were under some form of mind control. They weren't droned, but they were... cheerful to be ordered about by females. There wasn't any warning. The men I spoke to weren't even aware they'd been tampered with.

It was horrible, and I had no idea I'd given orders, until later.
