Watching the Smith household should become a priority after this rubbish blows over, as well. Especially if worse comes to worse and nobody manages to get a word from Sergei before he's found.

As a matter of fact, we ought to be watching the household even now. The chaos is an excellent opportunity for the Smiths to get up to something unusual, I'd think.
