[Sometime shortly past noon on Sunday, there is a black-cloaked woman walking through the door.  As in, literally through it.  She's unruffled, though her voice carries a tone of urgency.]

Grandfather?  Grandfather, we need to talk.

[Also she is carrying an extremely sharp sword dripping blood and other messy body ( Read more... )

There are a few other 'safe zones' around town; I'll send the stragglers near you your way.

The infected will be taken care of as well.

Hello, Ukraine.

Do you mind coming with me for a week or so?

You can think of it as going to the beach, except the beach is more of a bunker, but that'll be alright since they both start with b and they both have men with large egos lying about rather aimlessly.

[Iceland is working his way across town the eight blocks required to get to his brother's house. He has a baseball bat, but he's mostly just doing his best to avoid being anywhere near the zombies so he doesn't have to fight.

Susan's voice makes him jump and spin around, but he relaxes when it's obvious she isn't rotting or anything.]

I-I'm trying.

I hate to be overbearing, but trying really isn't good enough in this case.

Is there a reason you're outside?

There're just drones at my house, so I'm going to my brother's.

[Tiffany is in the middle of hitting a zombie in the head with a cast iron frying pan. She also has a hanging at her waist. Just killing the neighbours in the front lawn.]

That sounds like good homework.

I thought it would be excellent groundwork to prepare you all for the Red Badge of Courage.

[Susan chops the head off cleanly.]

Would you care for the honors?

[And smash goes the head. Tiffany pulls some heat from the sun and soon the corpse is burning on the driveway.]

You wouldn't happen to know why dead people are walking around would you?

[ BEST ASSIGNMENT EVER. Nena just bounces up and down obnoxiously and filled with energy at the new homework. ]

Don't worry! I can definitely do that! I'll get an A! We're being graded on this, right?

[ Nena wants to be graded on something. Surprise! ]

...Yes. Yes, you are. To be fair, it's more of a pass/fail sort of assignment.

[Susan is wondering how Nena got on her list of People To Check before remembering that she underneath the Chaotic alignment, she was still supposed to be Good.]

Okay! Is your home safe Ms. Susan?! If it's not I can guard it with my shuttle!

[ She got on there simply because if she died Susan would never hear the end of it if she learned she was even loosely connected to death. ): ]

My home is actually quite safe, thanks, though I suspect it would be otherwise if you accidentally ran through it with... whatever this is supposed to be.

Where are you even going to keep this?
