OOC:

My ST informed me that 'a PC' was attempting to IC Hack my LJ. Again, this LJ was intended for me to Soft RP Samuel during downtime... incorporating the Packets of Doom Aaron gives me about Sam's Mom and the stuff about his Father into my character's story and life ( Read more... )

Ugh. I would highly suggest oocly locking to begin with. Mine aren't for the simple reason that in vamp some people's co-workers greatly enjoy reading our drama and in ling...

I honestly pity the person who meta-games out of my journal and my ensuing grievance straight up the chain.

Still ooc locking is good ;:hugs;: sorry hon :(

There is a special level of hell set aside for Metagaming munchkins. If you find this snot back and want, I'll help make sure he finds his way there.

Note Bene person who tried this in character hack. I am not amused. Chris is not amused. Nobody is. Therefore cut it out and let people play.

See...

And I can understand IC Hacking someones info. I can understand using say a Computer Ability to infect computers in the region with an IC Virus that equates to a nasty message or such (wich actually happened to Angelo ICly)..

I cant understand wanting to HACK an 'eight' year olds journal.

*rolls eyes*

Id just rather Role Play and an IC Hack stops that RP from happening. You want Samuels secrets.. befriend him and then turn on him. Course youll have to pay the price for that.. but *shrug* IMNSHO that is better Role Play.. which is why i PLAY to begin with.

To play devil's advocate, it's not necessarily bad rp to try it - yeah from your PoV it creates a lot more Rp but what if the other person is playing a non social sluagh computer geek?

If you consider that at least two houses of Sidhe have whole societies dedicated to hacking and the like, it's definitely in venue. Not to mention the Nockers, Sluagh and Boggans (in particular) have really embraced the net too. Then think about stuff like the curiosity flaw - hell I know because of that and the Eshu frailty if Lucas knew about people's journals that he didn't have IC access to he might have a crack at getting onto them if he had computing ability (which he doesn't, while I'm a sad geek Lucas is an utter technophobe :))

Unless I've perhaps totally missed something ... but make sense?
