I made a call a few minutes ago to an Orthopaedic center to get an appointment, I got their answering service. The woman that answered the phone got all catty an says in a snide/catty way "Well, this is the answering service, they open at 9:15, okay? Thanks, bye ( Read more... )

from someone doing a lot of travelling in europe, americans ARE NOT rude. if you want rude, come to berlin. they will show you a different level of nasty here.

Jeff. Americans are actually the nicest people I know. Go to France or Germany. They take rude to a WHOLE new level.

That I agree with. For example, I work in a pharmacy as a pharm tech. We are there to help people out, but there are a dozen handfuls of people that take advantage of that and they are just plain rude. I am not trying to brag, but I am fairly nice to EVERYONE who comes in there. I am never mean. In fact, one of my bosses asked me if I had a mean bone in my body. And the amount of rudeness I experience everyday for how much we do truly amazes me...But what I'm trying to tell you is that foreigners have no right to speak about how we treat others. When I was in Europe, they gave "rude" a whole new ugly meaning. I would take our rudeness over theirs any day.
