I wholeheartedly believe everyone should read this, then send it to everyone they know. This should be a movement.
I cannot express how much this moved me. I've been there. I know so many others have been there. And you all have my love.http://

A billionty of love right back to you.

This should be a movement.

It is, silly! They're called feminism and womanism.

I meant the realization of rape culture. Out of all the soc/psych classes I've taken, it has never come up.
But thank you! I'm glad you took the time to read and comment, I'm always too shy to comment on your stuff but it's great.

I know, I was just being a bit silly. If you want an academic thing that discusses rape culture then you're pretty much only going to find it in a Women's/Gender Studies class, because patriarchy. But then you also get the bonus fun of dudes who are n00bs to feminism waving their privilege around and talking over everyone which is not actually fun and more sort of infuriating.

Basically, stick to the internet! We have banhammers here. :D Plus it's less expensive and you get a wider range of opinions and critiques and people going "btw, intersectionality exists!" and such.

Since you mentioned psych classes, though, you know what would be really freakin' useful to mention in a block about eating disorders? PATRIARCHY, FFS. /slightly rageful tangent.

Thank you! I do actually, like, read my flist and whatnot, but I am pretty lurk-y by nature so I hardly ever comment. I just am feeling particularly social today.

Or worse, the boys who go to the woman's studies classes to look like they are ~for the cause~ when they're for the tail ( ... )
