Personality: Ryoji is first transferred into Gekkoukan Highschool as the third new student into class 2-F and within just the first five minutes of being introduced, he has caught the attention of the whole class with his personality. A clue as to what this personality is, it directly links to his first act: flirting with Aigis in front of everyone. If that isn't enough, he has began to flirt with every other girl in the school, offering to take them out to dinner. It becomes very obvious that this rich foreign student can be quite a threat. He’s hitting on girls left and right, leaving not a single one alone. Heck, he even tries to ask Mitsuru Kirijo out on a date and everyone knows that takes some guts, but even if he has almost no fear, this can lead to some stupidity.
One of his most well known acts is when he “mistakenly” has used the hot springs when it “just so happens” that it’s the girls’ turn to use it. Admittedly, Junpei has probably planned this with him and hasn’t really thought any girls will even use it that late, but when they have heard the SEES girls walk in, Ryoji practically just screamed in joy. Depending on the player, he can get caught with the other boys and face execution that haunts him or gets away with it. Either way, everyone knows that what Ryoji has done is one of the most stupidest things ever and all for just a little peek.
However, despite his very flirtatious personality that goes ahead and does these kinds of acts, he’s no dirt bag. He does know his limits and is a very kind individual. He treats everyone quite respectfully and doesn’t go into a tantrum if he is rejected. He will actually laugh it off then move onto the next girl like nothing has happened. He doesn’t force anyone into going on with a date with him and is very cheerful. He loves life and all the precious memories that he makes with it. He is rarely down and keeps on a positive attitude of believing that everything will turn out fine in the end.
Of course, this personality takes a change when he finally realizes who he really is; the avatar of Nyx and the thirteenth arcana that isn’t meant to be: Death. It is his duty to summon Nyx and bring upon the Fall on the world where it will pretty much end all of humanity. One of Ryoji's large traits is that he absolutely hates seeing others in pain and the fact that it is him that has to bring it on the world, it puts him in a state of depression. He feels completely guilty over his role, even if it is something he cannot help. He doesn’t even say that everything will be fine in the end like he normally does and separates himself from others when before, he just has adored being around people. He greatly states that Nyx cannot be defeated and offers SEES to kill his human form for them to forget everything. In order to prevent others from suffering any longer, he is willing to give up his own humanity to do so.
But when the main character refuses, he takes it everything in his power to at least tell them where to meet Nyx and how to battle her. At the very least, he can help them in whatever way he can. Even if he has fallen into this state of depression and regret, he gives them one last smile and reassurance that everything will be fine as if to calm them down, like when he has been oblivious to his true self.
If given the chance to live normally, he will always be that one male that runs around flirting with everyone he sees, being surrounded by others and just living in the moment. Despite all the troubles that will come with it, he'll just smile and move on. He may still believe that death is something that just comes and seem cold for saying that, he'll still be that cheerful guy who goes around without a tint of depression.
Strengths:
» Carefree: Ryoji doesn’t get too fussy about things. He doesn’t get all angry and frustrated when a girl rejects his offer of dinner at a nice restaurant but instead, just moves onto the next one. Of course, his grades so fail a bit due to this, but he at least he’s not that bad as Junpei!
» Charming: This guy can make you feel like a thousand bucks. Of course, at first it just comes along with his flirting so he can reel you in, but if you do actually decide go lovers route with him, he’’ll really make that person feel like a princess. It’s not like what he has said before are lies, but when he’s really with someone, his words mean a lot more.
» Honest: When he is nearly caught along with Minato, Akihiko, and Junpei in the hot springs, he is the only one that believes it is better to come out and confess. He believes that it is better to just say what they have done wrong and suck it up. This can apply to all situations but his most notable one is the hot springs. Of course, he faces execution depending on the player’s choices, but at least he has been truthful about it.
» Has lots of guts: And I don’t mean the little intestines you and I have, I mean metaphorically. The one thing that Junpei has lacked when he is swooning over girls is that he never really has had the guts to ask them out. With Ryoji, if he sees someone, he’ll go straight up to them and do so, no matter who the person is. It actually almost seems as if he has no pride, but at least he’s not fumbling over the want to ask someone on a date.
» Kind: To everyone he meets, he makes sure to treat them kindly and respectfully. Sure, he might be hitting on you at the same time, but at least he’s sweet about it. He also deeply cares about his friends. He becomes concerned when Junpei hasn’t been showing up in school shortly after Chidori’s death and only wishes for everyone’s well being. This is why he becomes so down and depressed when he finds out what will happen to the world once Nyx arrives.
Weaknesses:
» A complete flirt: He will ask any girl straight out if they want to go on a date with him. Why is this a weakness? Well, most of the time, it can be considered annoying and really, it can land him into some pretty bad situations. From Yukari’s stomping on his little toes to going ahead to think it’s just a swell idea to enter the hotsprings when the girls are in, his cheerful flirting doesn’t normally have him come out unharmed.
» Impulsive: He tends to live in the moment and go ahead with whatever seems right with him. As obvious as it sounds, this normally makes everything end pretty badly. He doesn’t quite tend to think of the outcome and that does bite him in the ass later.
» Clueless: Ryoji is originally a Shadow that cannot think for itself and his time as a human is only for about a month.Thus, he can be clueless of certain things. Of course, he knows most of the obvious things everyone knows and he just acts like he never has heard of such things, but it can be confusing to others. He can ask questions such as what an umbrella is doing inside, not quite understand how to make a prayer at a shrine properly and act strangely in certain situations.

Goodness, what a horrible timing too. Look at all this snow in New Bark Town! At least this person seems to have a ridiculously long scarf to keep him a bit warm though. He pulls it closer around him as he stands by what seems to be a lab.]
It’s pretty cold out here. That lady didn’t leave me much clothes to dress myself in.

None of the girls here seems to be responding to my offers or answering my questions. A shame because some of them look pretty cute, but I suppose we can’t really go out to dinner if I don’t know where I am.
So, I’ll appreciate it if anyone here can tell me some details about this place. Maybe a beautiful angel will tell me in the midst of all this snow~

Ryoji fixed his scarf for what seemed to be the eleventh time that night. It was awfully cold out and without having much than a single jacket and his scarf to keep him warm, he couldn’t quite go to sleep. Really, it is rather hard to when he can barely stop worrying about freezing out here. Guess he had to postpone his date with some of the girls over the network since he was sure he’ll caught a cold or something.
His Pichu rested warmly in its Pokeball. He didn’t have the heart to let it out of its ball since the first time he did so in New Bark Town. It was so cold outside and the creature was so small! He couldn’t let that little adorable thing suffer in harsh winter weather like this. He did enjoy company and just loved being around with others, but not if it meant his friends would freeze to death.
He nudged the snow in front of him with his snow out of sheer boredom. He was lucky to find a spot under a pine tree that didn’t have the freezing white fluff all over the ground. Though he wondered why he found snow so fascinating. It almost felt like his first time ever seeing it. Surely that can’t be the case since he’s seventeen and while he was overseas, snow wouldn’t be all that unusual. Still, it felt kinda strange.
He fixed his scarf once again and looked up at the sky as much as he can with the big branches in the way. Oh! There’s a star out tonight! Didn’t someone say something about wishing upon one and it will come true? Cool! It gotta be his lucky day! Clasping his freezing hands together, he makes a single wish for that night:
’Please let me get lots of girls in Johto~’
