Trekkies are more obsessive (or at least richer) than Star Wars fans

Wow... a model of the Enterprise, used in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation (and some subsequent feature films), estimated to sell for maybe $35,000, actually sold for five hundred seventy-six thousand dollars.
To put in it perspective, twice what my house cost? Wow.

My GOD. It's one of those things where something like that would be cool to have but, um.... yeah. I'd rather just have the HALF MILLION AND CHANGE.

So, I figure I might as well make this offer: If anyone reading this is depressed that they were outbid for the Enterprise, you can paypal me the money you'd earmarked for it, and I will send you a square of cardstock that I will lie and say came from the set. If you want, I'd be happy to draw a stick-figure-enterprise on your cardstock square, too!

Well, they've had more time to save up.

that auction was clearly and blatantly undervalued across the board.
