And just a little fact: it recently has been theorized that fish cannot feel pain because they lack that part of the brain. They just respond to stimulus. PETA says that's still pain but by that definition plants also feel pain.

haha I have a vegetarian (and really bitchtastic) "friend" whom I recently found out lost her job and is now working at Taco Bell KFC. Ms. ZOMGMEATISBADFORJOOO is selling sub-par meat for a living.

it really pisses me off when people go "how could you eat/kill that, it's so cute!" but they'll happilly eat a dead pig or cow burger. for example, it is -illegal- in the US to kill a horse for meat, even though horse meat is better for you than cow meat and a horse is no more noble than a cow.

Exactly! Societies set social behavior and acceptance for what is right and wrong. I wouldn't eat a dog or cat, but other cultures do. I'm not saying they're horrible people--but I like my kitty.
