I think it's fun! I love the colors and I love your style....
there is a little something 'off'....but I can't quite put my finger on it...maybe the body isn't quite right where it joins the neck? maybe there needs to be a little sprig of tail sticking up somewhere (assuming he has a tail!) are you working from a picture? I've never painted animals...it always looks so hard!

It is hard!!! The tail makes sense. It will pull it together I think. Thanks!

i love the colors! but it kind of looks like a person with a dog's head, and that is disturbing to me.

It is a human-dog morph, though that's kind of cool in its own way.

The colors are great.

Oh, morph because the eyes are human-shaped, and with most dogs you wouldn't see the whites of their eyes (Kyra being the only exception out there and people always comment on how strange it is, but still her eye shape is still rounder), plus the body is also more human...

But I think a lot of folksy type art shows only human-animal morphs. It's sort of a style.

Oooh, I guess I should add that if you look at a distant photo of Kyra, her eyes do seem to be oval, but in close up the eye itself is more round, but she has these black markings around her eyes that go into an oval shape, just another way that Kyra is a dog-human morph herself. But most dogs wouldn't have that.

um, to me it looks like a study for the painting, not a finished painting...it is good, but looks rushed or unfinished to me. and it does look like a human with a dogs head for some reason...I weonder why?

sorry, now it sounds like I think it is the suck. I love the colours? I do!

I know MiL had portraits painted of her dogs, and the artist just did the face-could it be possible that the difficulty in portraying dogs from the front is the reason why? It is bloody hard.

i think the shlumpy sweater has a lot to do with making it look humanish. it doesn't look like a doggy sweater.
