I am getting really frustrated in my search for finding a good opera summer program.

I want it to include:

-Performing a whole show (I don't care which as long as there is a good low mezzo part)
No recitals-only programs or opera scenes if I can help it.

-Intensive language lessons

-Not $8000 please.

-Great staff.

Any ideas?

Hey, I don't know if you do, but I'm a subscriber to Classical Singer magazine...I'm pretty sure I have like...a zillion copies...and the one I just got has a whole bunch of stuff about summer programs...I'll take a look for you if you haven't seen it yet. :)

I'm a subscriber too...there are a ton of listings on their site but it's hard to know which ones are really legit and will help someone of my age/voice type

The newest magazine, I believe has a bunch of reviews from people...and people don't pull punches. If it sucked they say so...sometimes CS has been like "well damn...we won't put them on our listing anymore"...
I'll check for you though too...:)
You need to be famous. And I need to be your agent. :P

Do you subscribe to Yaptracker? My subscription is about to run out, and I'm going to let it. But it was a great resource for audition postings - way better than classical singer.

Anyway, Seagle is supposed to be fantastic. I was a finalist last year, but didn't get in. It's expensive, but I've heard it's worth it. Very selective though.
