Gassy leaks

Oh, we've been messing with lots of gas leaks here.The leaks must have to do with the tree falling on our house and related injuries and reconstruction.The chimneys got hit as well as the back of our house and I could hear bricks falling down through the chimney even weeks after the accident. I used to tackle my own home repairs, but the town council banned me from doing any work that involved power equipment or more than two hand tools of any kind. Apparently they were tired of all the emergency service callouts.

Nope, not serious! I wrote that in a column once, and it's been an ongoing joke around town ever since.

Don't get me wrong -- it's true that I'm hopeless with tools, especially power tools, unless I'm destroying something with them.
