All Praise be to Jojo for improbably being the 931st texter in a WXRT free Lollapalooza tickets contest.

All Praise be to Jojo's brother, who has no nickname so we shall call him The Bunchberry Maven (that's for the Mainers), who suffered Free Stuff Amnesia and planned a trip for this Lollapalooza weekend.

WHY did you leave before the conclusion of DM's set? This make me want to slap you.

I left before the end of Radiohead's set, last year - one of my fav bands ever! I didn't want to deal with pushing my way through the crowds towards the front, and it was hard to connect with the show otherwise. I biked across Lake Shore Drive, listened from a distance, and actually enjoyed that a lot more.

The beginning of the set was weak (i.e., new). With that excuse out of the way, I think the reason I left has to do with being old/sucking.

Heh. It's easy for me to judge from my couch. That said, the new album is good, you fool!

Elan ran into Kip from TVOTR at his restaurant Friday night. They were playing a show at the Double Door (next door). That's my Lolla story.

On a related note, how can one become inured to the horror of humungous crowds in order to enjoy an event such as Lolla? This keeps me from a lot of social activities (music fests, street fests, political rallies, etc.) and I'm beginning to feel weird about it.

Lolla is tough. There is nowhere to escape, and the hot doesn't make it any better. It's why I always liked Pitchfork. We staked out a spot and there were always people by our stuff, so everyone just went up to see the bands at their leisure. My solution for yesterday was not quite so cozy: I left for about 1 1/2 hrs. and went to my office to sit in the AC and read.
