Winner: brainlesswonder

cargill relied too heavily on the theme of the Republicans using this issue as a ploy to score political points. While that certainly seems to be the case, it had little to do with his argument that their actions were either unconstitutional or unethical. brainlesswonder successfully refuted that argument, as far as I'm concerned ( Read more... )

Well fuck. What can I say? I was expecting something, but it wasn't for my opponent to roll over and die and give me the win by not presenting an argument at all. When I was running the scenario in my head, it never came out with "My opponent doesn't even try."

oddly enough, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals passed down a strongly worded statement today, actually calling into question the constitutionality of what Bush and Congress did and pretty much backing up what I was saying. Fuck. 5 days too late. Thanks CoA. ;)
