It should be a socially accepted way to modify a body.
It only becomes a problem when those going through it suffer from other problems not related to their surgery (aka, low self esteem, weird body outlooks, etc) but thats not surgery's fault. There are anorexics out there, that does not mean that all diets are bad.
if you made it unacceptable to have plastic surgery to "alter" your body then you would also have to make it unacceptable to pierce your nose, eyebrow, lip, tongue etc. because that alters your body too. If you wanna be the best you that you can be and you think plastic surgery is teh way to go then more power to ya. if you want to pierce your ear, belly, scrotum or anything else, again more power to ya. its a personal decision and not one taken lightly and I dont think anyone other than a persons doctor should be able to say yes its a good idea or no it isnt.
I couldn't agree any more with you. All body modifications should be treated the same. Piercings/ implants/ dying hair/ manicures/ tattoos/ laser treatment are all forms of upkeeping your body to the view where you individually want it. Now, it can get neurotic as people get carried away with their interpretation of the "perfect image" and get nose job after nose job, etc
( ... )
I presonally think people should be happy with what they have...But it should be socially accepted...If someone wants to change something it is there choice and freedom of movement...And choice.
if someone wnats to do it then go ahead, probably someday i'll get implants or something or some type of surgery to improve my body if i cant do it myself
Ummm.. I believe that people have the right to modify their appearance in whatever way they desire... especially in the case of areas that otherwise would be exposed only in the privacy of their own home. As long as the shaver and his or her significant other, or whoever will be directly in contact with said region, are both in agreement with his/her decision, why not?
Damn, i sould like a lawyer :) My own personal preference? I like it natural down there, for her and me both. But I allow all others their cultural preference.
Liberal Tenet #3: I believe in the right of people to freely express their individuality in any way, provided it does not directly interfere with another person's rights. I am not frightened of diversity in appearance.
