Thank you re: Captain Elias' Laurel Ceremony

Saturday was fantastic.  Busy yes, but worth it all.  It meant the world to us that so many folks drove literally many hundreds of miles for a day trip to 12th Night just to see Elias elevated to Laurel.  We can't thank you all enough, but damn if we don't try! Thank you to Master Steffan & Lady Elspeth and the hospitality of House Silverwing. ( Read more... )

From a fellow maritime researcher (both in the SCA & out), vivat to him! (And I'll say so to the good captain whenever he posts about it.)

I wish I could've been there, but the distance was just too great.

Re: the Laurel medallion - that's great. My Maunche medallion was also a maritime tool. Master Ekkehardt of Oakenwode made me a miniature quadrant (navigational instrument) out of brass, and as a perfect touch it was "pre-set" to the Isles of Shoals, a place near & dear to me... and settled in period!
