The Hurricane...

I'm in northern Houston sorta near Tomball, staying with dad's cousin. From what I understand we're not really going to have any problems here. Still unsure of where we'll go tomorrow- possibly toward Dallas, provided the roads are clearer. We left @ 8:30 Wed night and sat in traffic on 288 & 45 until about 5pm Thursday when we decided to give up on 45 and search for another way to get west or north. After several more situations no better than 45, we ended up @ dad's cousin's house. So of the 21 hours we spent in traffic of about 1 mph, I got a one hour nap, some caffiene and a few snacks. I started with 3/4 tank of gas and added 5 gallons I'd saved in gas cans ended up with about 1/4 tank. Obviously no stations along the way have had gas yet- and even food/drink was a rare luxury. Also, we had to run the AC sparingly in the 108 degree heat due to engine overheating problems. I've been in contact with my family and a few close friends, which I am very thankful for. I am still concerned about the situation of a few of them- leaving
