I was once really aggravated with a professor for telling me my writing was bad. He said it flat out, too... that it was bad I was angry. Then, I read my writing again and saw how my style was weak in certain parts which let him think it was so bad. So I strengthened what was weak and changed what was bad. I gave it to the professor again and he said it was much improved... and apologized if he had sounded harsh.

Maybe you should try tinkering with the writing (and your style) to see what comes of it. If you don't like it, trash it. But at least you can say you tried. You never know what can happen with your writing if you don't attempt to branch out or be adventurous once in a while.
