my friend Dana tried to talk me into doing the NaNoWriMo and I just don't have any time or insperation...you know? I can't even think of a name to call my main character...something as feminine but strong as Vivian. Grr.

Wednesday? I don't go to NCCC on Wednesdays...are you coming in tomorrow? I would -love- to look at it, as I was all set to write a real, novelette story again and I can't until the main girlie's got a name that I didn't steal from another book about the same subculture.

Sometime in the early 90s, a guy came up with the idea that Star Trek, as an influential piece of American culture, should be on a postage stamp. He started trying to get signatures and everything. He was astonished by the response. In the end he had an endorsement from Isaac Asimov, and another from a Senator, and a couple other famous people (don't remember). Anyway, the documentary this was from didn't mention the name of the senator but they did show a copy of the letter in support of the plan, which is clearly signed by John F. Kerry.
