LOL about your screensaver/wallpaper! Somehow I doubt your boss will buy into that explanation....but it is worth a try.

LOL about your screensaver/wallpaper! Somehow I doubt your boss will buy into that explanation....but it is worth a try.Yeah, about that: Shirtless Spike draped over a cross wasn't even my screensaver (I try not to be quite so blatant at work). No, what happened was, as part of a university wide project to identify and resolve inadequate security of the sensitive personal information we use at work, my boss was checking the results of a software program we all had to run in our computers that compiles a list any files that may contain sensitive data; i.e. social security numbers or credit card numbers. So this "Spider Scanner" casts a hellova wide net, because what it came up with was virtually every file in my computer that contained a numeric sequence...somewhere, which appeared to be everyone of my bookmarks. (Good thing I'd cleaned up all my temporary files before running the program or we'd have been there forever.) Anyway, he starts randomly clicking on listed files, and one of the files he clicked on was a Favorites of a fanfic ( ... )

Yay! Serious role, there!

Except, Buzz Aldrin? So very not casting for physical type, then?

Julia, because Aldrin was sort of big and square-faced...

When I read the announcement I had no recollection of what Buzz Aldrin looked like. But shapinglight posted a cut to a photo of Buzz Aldrin, and as soon as I looked at it I could see James' face and spirit shining through. I easily can see him portraying this man. Sadly, it will mean a return of the buzz cut and, depending on their commitment to veracity, a possible shrinking of his hairline. But it'll be worth it for the sake of this role, and afterwards he can always go back to the lovely waves with maybe a touch of curl. I've been reading some of the comments on other people's LJs and see that some think it an odd casting choice, but not me. On the contrary, just going by that one photo it seems like perfect casting. Let's just hope that the script and all the other variables that go into a film are good enough to make a post-Spike vehicle that finally shows him off to his best advantage.

Yeah - about that, I pretty much only set up the journal to give myself an other than Anonymous identity when I comment on the LJ's of others. That's how Some of my LJ time is spent - reading my friends and lots of articles and such that I find links to. But I gotta say that the bulk of it's spent copying, pasting, editing the format of and printing out vast amounts of fanfic. That takes a huge amount of time. Maybe if I ever get a lap-top that I can use to read stories online then I'll turn my attention to maintaining my own LJ, as in actually posting to it. But there is the small matter of me being very bashful about talking about my own life, which is decidedly boring.

But I'm around ::waves:: - just more of a lurker than a writer.
