aw, I'm just excited you replied! Do they say oncet, twicet, acrosst in your neck of the woods? The Appalachian dialect (described by linguists as "archaic speech narrowed down to sort of a Scottish-flavored Elizabethan English") of my ancestry does, so once I said the words out loud I easily figured it out.

We don't! I suspect it's more Elizabethan than anything else -- but you know those linguists will say anything. ;-)

I'd love to come to your meeting. I have a lot of intriguing black sheep rumors in my family, including a murder mystery, a connection to Devil Anse Hatfield (of the McCoy Feud fame), a possible KKK member and a bootlegger. I also have a confirmed pirate ancestor. Good thing misbehavior isn't genetic. :-)

My grandfather was also a bootlegger. I haven't come across any pirates. :) I know my great great grandfather committed suicide, and I've found more than one ancestor that served in the Revolutionary War.
