The Apprentice, Chapter 17

May 19, 2011 22:54

Chapter 17 of The Apprentice (and the end of 1976! hooray!) has now been uploaded to fanfiction.net. It's quite long--about half again as long as my usual chapters--which I hope adds to rather than detracts from reading enjoyment!

Bonus Materials:

Deleted scene

"Do trains run on Christmas?" Dursley asked.
"Yes," Severus replied firmly.

Transfigured Coats

Mr. Peters: [reading] "Wished he'd do the same to his Transfigured Muggle coat..." Transfigured into what?
Me: No, transfigured into a Muggle coat.
MP: From what?
Me: His cloak. [Changes text to "Transfigured-into-a-Muggle-coat"]
MP: That still doesn't make it clear. Transfigured into a Muggle coat from...a fish?
Me: Oh my god. [Changes text to "coat"]
MP: ....Coatifors! "Here, Harry, you've learned the turn-a-fish-into-a-coat spell!"
Me: "Oh, no, Harry! Draco has cast a freezing charm on this room! We will freeze to death without a coat! And the only thing in this room is a glowing blue fish! Whatever will we do?"

(In case you haven't had the incredible experience of playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for PS2, the not at all useless "Avifors" spell...turns rocks into birds. And that's it. Very specific blue rocks.)
