So. I am seriously considering buying an iPad 3. Why? Well as I tell Nick - because I want one :D

You pay like $7 a week for 3 years and at the end of the time period you either buy it outright or upgrade to the next shiny item.

Wouldn't you wind up paying about double of what an iPad 3 actually costs?

Yeah that's the part that is unclear to me, at the end if the rental period do you pay full price or do they take off what you've already paid?

I have an iPad 2, and I love it. I was in the same boat as you - I got it because I wanted it. It took a while for me to integrate it into my technological life, just because... well, I have so much other stuff, too. /o\ But I don't regret it for a second, so I say: go for it!

I don't know how snazzy a phone you have, but I found that I really didn't need the wireless version, which knocks a fair bit off the price.
