ugh, those articles are painful. Wikipedia really is a mixed bag... in some domains, you can get a decent balance and reasoned debates, but in others, it's ruled by geeky, chauvinistic white dudes.

Interesting. My experience/assumption is that pretty much everything on Wikipedia has been written by, or passed the filter of, privileged white dudes; particularly when you consider whether a subject matter has Wikipedia coverage at all. This could be due to the parts of Wikipedia I use, of course.

Do you happen to have examples handy of articles on (English) Wikipedia that are not from a white perspective? I could use the education, if nothing else.

(I also apply the same kind of assumption to Google search results, particularly post G+, as G+ users are more likely to be white, male, etc and they can apparently affect search results by what they choose to + or not.)

I haven't been reading Wikipedia as much as I did 4-5 years ago..that said, if you're still really curious about dynamics in editing across cultures/races, I happened to be reading the discussion of this article about an aspect of Indian history lately, which might have some stuff going on ( ... )
