I wanted to go last year but I had something else on, what it was escapes me now. I've heard nothing but good things. Plus the chance to see Watchmen on IMAX is too good to turn down. Haven't been to a con since a Memorabilia many man years ago.
I've got my love of comics reignited and since I've been listening to you and Iz and Geek Syndicate on a regular basis I'm dying to get back into some ongoing comic series. I'm annoyed I caught on to Captain Britain and MI-13 rather late as I would've loved to have been reading it while it was running.
Me and Bek are big geeks and she has a comic club with her kids at school (shes an English teacher) We did plan to go when Mike Mignola was there but again something prevented us so we have made a set plan to go no matter what.
I have to say, the best bits of the UK cons for me is the panels and meeting up with fellow geeks. I don't find there's much in the way of bargains there, so I'm only usually on the convention floor if there's an artist I want a sketch from. You'll usually spy me in a panel or in a nearby pub rambling obnoxiously about the new Captain America and whether I reckon Steve Rogers oughtta come back or not :P
By the way, I read the first League of Extraordinary Gentlemen trade a few weeks back. Took me long enough :P
Ah! So tell me what you thought of it? I'm looking forward to any panels there, especially since Paul Cornell is there and I don't think there wont be a sort of panel without him. Also chuffed that Alan Davis is there and I hope he is doing sketches as I wouldn't mind getting one of Captain Britain from his Alan Moore period or D.R. and Quinch. How does the whole sketch thingy work then? Do you make a request of them?
