The house smelled like shit. The scent of cooking meat offended Mark, even more so when he considered who was cooking it [the only reason it did, really]. He'd come hopping back to the front steps after a while, reluctant to let Viveka come home and just walk in without being properly warned [and whined at].
At least he'd nudged the dog to lay over his bare feet. That much she was good for.
And naturally, it was about this time Viv was comin home, something rather convenient-- then again, her being gone in the first place was also rather convenient like that, so maybe it just fit that such a thing would occur again?
Front steps, hey sup Mark. The dog, wolf, whichever, though, that was new! Very new. New enough that it got her attention, giving a sort of an offhand 'hey!' to Met before kneeling down in front of the footwarmer. "Where'd this come from?" Awkward, referring to it as a 'this!' [... it?]
[Why the hell did it smell of... food, anyway? Obviously there was SOMETHING here that she was missing.]
