I don't know that much about the rest of her Congressional record, but I tuned into C-Span to watch her (with Sen. Boxer) formally contest the 2004 election results...it was an important speaking of truth to power. 

I'm sure that lots of the books I loved as a kid were written by people whose worldviews I would now find totally repulsive, and I already knew that Orson Scott Card was a Mormon, but DAMN.
