Howdy! I followed this link from bau_inbox, but I just had to stop and comment on this post because OMG THIS WOULD BE THE GREATEST THING EVER. To be completely honest, I always felt as though the drug storyline tapered out way too quickly to be entirely realistic, and while the occasional mentions are nice for continuity, IRL Reid would still be struggling visibly with his addiction.
And it would make him sweaty and growly and angsty and honestly, those are the best flavors of Reid. :)
Glad you stopped by! :D Feel free to discuss the whole episode here if you want! :D Or any other post I got going on - The more the merrier. :)
I agree with everything you said. I know the time line moves quicker on CM then irl but the only mention we really had of the addiction besides the few episodes following the actual incident in season 2 was once in season 3 (elephants memory), in this episode and in one earlier episode this season they mentioned it, but that's been it. Not enough for me and I'm not just saying that because I am a Reid girl - Matthew is an amazing actor and it's nice to see him flex his acting muscles once and while, ya know?
I would LOVE to see that cause I'm addicted to angst and drama in my crime fighters. LOL I want to see Reid address that problem. And Morgan address more of his past with Buford. And Hotch address his divorce more. I'm like bring on the omg it's like an awesome fanfic PAIN! *cough*
I agree so damn hard with And Hotch address his divorce more. or even his time with Jack. Sure he called him this episode but when was the last time we saw Daddy!Hotch. And ngl I'd love to see Hotch try and make a move on someone. Wonder if he'd be as socially awkward as Reid since he hasn't macked on someone in how many years?
I would love to see some relationships too! And we know there are possibilities even on the team itself!! Cause that lest episode was so a set up to Rossi/Prentiss. Plus Morgan/Garcia. And in my head there's always UST between Hotch/Morgan and I'm so gonna take care of you-ness between Morgan/Reid. Okay, I just totally went into my own little world there. My point is bring on the angsty drama!
*cocks head to one side* Ya know, I've never thought about that since I'm mostly Reid/Morgan/Garica but I totally see that now! Esp when they get all 'old married couple' and bicker. (lots of that in this episode)
Edit: wtf happened to Will? there aren't even any photos of him in JJ's office. Aren't they supposed to be getting married?
Actually, this does make a hell of a lot of sense. I never thought that he would be sedated, but I don't know if the writers will go ahead and examine this further. We shall see.
And I can think of a few people who would follow your definition of "sick and twisted" regarding Reid. And I'm included. What can I say, he's hot when he's broken.
BTW, I love your thoughts and posts on the show. I don't really post about fandom anymore, so coming here to talk about CM is nice.
I hope they do. But it dawned on me that they would have kept him knocked out just to deal with everything and be more comfortable while his body heals so I was wondering what others thought. :)
*high fives you* yay for sick and twisted!
I'm getting around to checking my flist (i'm not even checking the flist I'm just going through each friend I have and raping their journals lol) so I'm sure I'll see what you've been posting about soon. <3 I'm really glad that my journal gives you a place to rant, rave, review and squee over your fandom since you don't anymore <3 Really glad I could help bb. :)
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought of this! I agree with everyone else, the first arc of his addiction was too short and unrealistic, and he should have a setback with this.

Poor Reid :'( When he said goodbye to his mom, it was heartbreaking.
