Killer Bees Invade Haven!

Oct 27, 2013 19:16

I have to admit, that ever since I noticed that links to these reviews with their titles have been appearing over at the havenherald (assembled by the hardworking killabeez), I've really wanted to have an exceptionally dramatic subject line. Now that I've gotten that out of my system (maybe), on to this week's review of last Friday's Haven, "Lay Me Down." For those ( Read more... )

I wish I could be happier about the Audrey/Nathan, I really do. I haven't actively shipped it since "301," but I love them both as characters and am all about them being happy. But the plot and character fail on this whole Wade situation is bumming me out so much. I loved this season up until the end of 4.06! And now, I'm struggling to see how I can get past it.

p.s. on another subject entirely, I love your layout! I don't usually like light colors on dark backgrounds for a journal, but it's really beautiful.

Thank you - it's just one of LiveJournal's default themes, all I did was tweak a few of the labels.

To me, this season is feeling really rushed. They were doing well for awhile, but now that they are all back in Haven it is like "let's see how many story lines we can burn through this season". That Wade thing was fast and hard and I wished they would have played that out a little longer and, you know, a little more subtly. I agree though that Audrey and Nathan shouldn't/wouldn't have let Duke handle that. That wasn't a trouble acting up that couldn't be dealt with through normal channels. Wade attacked the guy to get his blood before he even knew what his trouble was like. If he was going to act like that before he even had a taste of what his trouble was like, no way would he have been better afterwards ( ... )

(Hey, it's hhooppyy! I miss seeing you around castleland.)

I've certainly noticed that they've been slamming though storylines much faster than I expect them to, but I don't actually dislike it. I reserve final judgement until end of the season.

I've decided that, whoever Jennifer is, I'm not going to see it coming. But I do like her, and hope she actually sticks around.

I understand completely - with this show, I often combine multiple seasons in my thought processes.

Hey, it's me! Yeah, we just don't see each other as much now that Castleland is down, huh?

I think it feels a little rushed. I'm not at dislike yet, but I am not thrilled about it either. I think even one extra episode in there would have made the pace a little more reasonable.

Yeah..that is so easy to do. Especially if you have watched stuff from this season and are doing challenges from other seasons. They really kind of jumble if you're not careful.

Yeah, apparently Duke makes all sorts of bad calls when it comes to family. Which is kind of strange, because prior to to Wade's appearance I was of the opinion that he wasn't close at all to the half-brothers he had floating around.

I actually always first associate Kandyse McClure (sp?) with a guest stint she did on Dark Angel, then secondly with BSG: TNG even though I never really watched the series.

Is she Lucy's daughter? James and Arla's daughter? William's?I suppose Jennifer could be Lucy's daughter, though if they have another one of "Audrey"'s kids showing up I will be less than impressed. Can't see her being James and Arla's daughter for Troubled reasons: we know James' parents' afflictions, so if he has a Trouble it wouldn't be the same as Jennifer's. I suppose one of Arla's parents could have a different affliction and it skipped a generation ( ... )

I suspect that, whoever Jennifer is, I won't see it coming.

So if people are dying because of whatever the heck Sinister Man and Heavy are doing to the Troubles, and if it happened because Audrey left the Barn, and if William was working with Sinister Man and Heavy to get Lexie to realize who she is and want to leave the Barn, then I'm not entirely sure that I trust William. Which doesn't mean that he's not James. And that's an awful lot of ifs.

This show is built on ifs.

I like William, so I'm choosing to trust him. Which is entirely ridiculous, but, y'know. Colin Ferguson.

I want to trust him for that very reason. Which is why I don't.
