OMG, can I just say that the stream-of-consciousness quality of this journal made me all kinds of happy? That's the first comment. The second being I KNOW! How the heck do ppl write w/o the pre-writing part? I mean for crying out loud! I spend hours, DAYS just doing research before I feel properly prepared to start even PRE-writing. And I mean, of course, the story will morph as you go. I think that's unavoidable, but you need a basic map of where you're going before you can try to get there, right? I really feel like a lot of writers don't get that. I have a friend who is amazing and writing papers and the like, and she wants to write stories but can never manage it. I'm gonna bet it's because she never spends any time plotting where the story is going to go ( ... )
