Yeah, that's what I found when I was looking, sweet fuck all in Wpg. Check out Red River, apparel design, it's the certificate course I'm taking. It's totally 1950's and is taught at the U of M in the same room used in the 50's ;). But it's a good course as it teaches the basics, which haven't really changed in a century. Textiles, however, is a joke. But you need it to get the certificate and also go on to the 2nd year.
how many nights/days a week is it? and how much is it murdering your bank account? i'm most curious about whether or not i can even pull it off financially.
The courses are really cheap for Red River courses. There are 3 a year, so fall, winter and spring. Pattern making level 1 is $400, textiles $300 and I believe pattern making level 2 is $400 (I haven't paid for that one yet, so I'm not sure). For the 2nd year I believe each course would be around $400. It's only 1 night a week, every Monday. It's about $100 a month to take for the 3 semesters basically. I've been putting it onto my credit card, which probly isn't the best plan. Thankfully income tax will pay for the next course :)
