I Voted Today!

I'm super excited, even though it was "only" the local election, not the general one (since I'm not a British citizen and may well never be, seeing how Austria doesn't allow dual citizenship). We pretty much always vote at this time of year so it's not entirely surprising that it's almost exactly a year ;0)

I understand the general technique for gaining dual citizenship when your home country doesn't allow it is just not to tell them... What they don't know won't hurt them. (In the opposite direction, I believe the trick is to surrender your passport, get your new citizenship, then write to the embassy of your original country and say "oops, lost my passport".) Obviously I'm not a lawyer so don't blame me in court :0P
