Good news: My grandmother called and the doctor urged her to come down for Thanksgiving. She has agreed and is excited about it

Is chemo by pill stronger than by injection or is it just so they can get her started until (or if) they plan to put a port in her.

I think they are doing that because they don't want to use her port. She has a port for her other medication so it's possible they either can't or won't use the port she has and they don't want to add another one. Those are my guesses anyway.
