School, Social, & Sleep

So, I need to rant so I figured that here's as good of place as anywhere.

On a friend's facebook I saw a bumper-sticker or a flare--I can't remember which--that really summed up college life perfectly.

It said something like 'pick two' because you can't have all three. Well, I think you can't have even two of them sometimes. I'm so irritated right now, this week has been horrid. It's just one annoy event after another, I feel like strangling someone. I had two tests, a book discussion, and a paper due this week on top of the normal massive amount of homework. I don't feel that great about one of the tests which bothers me a great deal since I really need an A/A- in that class. (I hate the plus/minus system). Then things keep breaking in my apartment, one of my roommates is quite possible as dumb as a rock, and my partner on a project that was due today did not send me her half of it until midnight last night.

I'm fine with most of that, really, it's just part of college. It's to be expected. What irks me the most, what I cannot take is the fact I got an 86% on a paper for Western Civ II. I've never gotten anything below an 89% on a paper and now some stupid GTA for a class that no one would if not for the sole fact that we are all required to take it gave me a 86%? No. Fuck that. If I had the same GTA that I had for Western Civ I last semester I would have gotten a 95 on the paper. This annoying overly-self-important woman that sounds and looks like a mouse gave me a 86? And because I went above what was required for the prompt and talked about Hobbes, too. Honestly, she even said so on the grading sheet. WTF?

I can get a B on a test, as an overall grade for a class once a semester, but I refuse to accept a B on a paper. That's my niche, that's what I'm good at. I'm going to go talk to this brat next week. Though, I'm fairly certain that would only make her hate me but I can't not say anything.

Ugh, I hate this semester. I have a test, book discussion, paper, or project every week until the end--sometimes even a combination of two or three of those things.

What happened to college being fun?

There, after ranting about this to quite a few friends I feel even better now that I've written it all down.

P.S. South Korean Short/Long Track Skaters: stop cheating already. Rock on Apolo Ohno, I am so sorry that the reefers are unfair towards you and whenever someone does terrible shit to you they turn a blind eye, but when you might have done something wrong you get DQed. I'm just going to say it, in the Olympics, the South Koreans cheat in speed skating. That's that.
