Well...

Last wednesday I really wanted to go to Toronto, both Elvis Costello and Gold Chains were playing. I've seen Costello before, but he's killer so I'd love to see him again, and I've wanted to see Gold Chains ever since I heard "I Come From San Francisco" hehe. However I promised Car that I'd be at her last show. Jud is moving out west, so the Syndicate are now without a drummer, and they're calling it quits. It's terrible. They were my favourite local band. The show was awesome and I'm glad I went. They were displaying some of Car's work around the club too. Good stuff.

Thursday Carolyn and I went to see Mugshot and Junior play at Fitzy's. They had the bands out on the patio, which was great until the rain came.

Friday Liam, D'Arcy, Pat and I headed for Hellfest around ten at night. Got to Syracuse around four or so, tried to buy beer. Can't get any at that hour apparently. Tried again at a supermarket at six, no luck.... We had to wait 'til eight to get our beer. Can you believe that?! Pssssh.

After we got our beer we went to get a hotel room. We ended up at the Hampton Inn. Half decent place, it was new, there was a big tv, nice decor, coffee machine, ironing board (hehe), and the continental breakfast was massive.

We got to the fairgrounds at like 2, just in time for Death Threat. haha. It was a good day, checked out Bleeding Through, My Chemical Romance, Terror, FATA, Shai Hulud(fucking amazing), Thursday, Hope Conspiracy and A Static Lullaby. Good times.

Sunday morning before checkout, I decided to go "surfing" on the ironing board. Everything was going smoothly until Pat started to shake the board. After about a minute of me freaking out and spilling beer, the damn thing collapsed. Pat spent a half hour trying to fix it. We shoved it back in the closet, and hopefully noone will notice. hehe.

Sunday was better, but it sucked that we missed Remembering Never and Armor For Sleep, and most of Evergreen Terrace. Underoath were awesome, Haste had some cool dual vocalist shit going on. Merciana was different, but I liked them.
Nora was great, I almost got killed by stage diving fat people though., Norma Jean went the fuck off. I chose Hopesfall over On Broken Wings but I was torn because I wanted to see them, but Hopesfall played "... End Of An Era" so I was happy, ETID were stellar, it's too bad they didn't have Beetlejuice though! haha. The Locust were pretty boring, I was disappointed.
Daughters blew me away, absolutely amazing. The 50 Cent shirt totally topped it all off.
Bob's on crack, DEP was incredible. They were better in Toronto, but here they had people breathing fire and they covered Slayer and "Wish" which happens to be my favourite NIN song. Rock.

Almost everyone left before CKY came on. I know it was Hellfest, and CKY is a joke, but they're not the worst band in the world, but I don't know why noone even bothered to stay. They were pissed though, and I thought that was funny, because they are assholes.... I like how Deron was wearing his own bands shirt onstage. Weak. The merch was soooo overpriced, $15 for a shirt $3 for a button. hahaha. Yeah right. Rake was there, and that was the highlight of their set.

It was nice seeing Joel, Andrea, Gorham and Bob again. I got to meet Julia, and she seemed very nice, too good for Bob if you ask me. That guy is an asshole. hehe. Hopefully we'll be seeing each other again soon.

Pat and the rest of my car went home on Sunday, but I stayed with Dawson and everyone at their hotel for an extra night of partying. Things got a little crazy and at four in the morning we ended up at the Salt City Porn store. 24 hour Porn stores. Only in America.

We had the plan down.... We'd get a blow-up doll and put it in bed with everyone that was sleeping when we got back and then take pictures. We only had to decide on which doll we were gonna get. Fat doll, gay doll, big tit doll..... Nope, we settled on the midget doll. Oh yeah.
It even came with free midget DVD porn (good stuff!!! hehe).

A picture is worth about ten words. hehe.

Overall Hellfest was a great time, I was hot, there weren't any beer tents, and I missed Kindra, but she wanted to go to AFI instead, and that was part of her birthday present, so it's my own fault. hehe. It was damn hard getting that ticket, and it turned out I could've gotten her on the guestlist if I wanted to! Figures.

Oh. Murder By Death is the best band ever. I hope you know this.

Anyways, Monday we got back to Barrie late and I had like an hour to get ready before Carolyn picked me up to go to the Virus/Blind Society show. It wasn't my kind of music, but they were fun to watch and I had a good time talking to them, really nice guys.

Tuesday Dead To Fall and Taken played. That was more like it. Both of those bands are sooo good live. Chad from Taken was even rocking an Alarm shirt, it was nice to see that.

Wednesday Carolyn and I went to Fitzy's, but it was boring so we just walked around downtown and kept running into weird kids we used to know from a long time ago.

Thursday Mike took me out to this new bar. I'm in love. $3 Asahi. That's not all though, the decor is really cool, all IKEA shit, and there's projection screens, a sweet plasma tv and even Keith Haring prints!

Friday was my summer work party, I blasted my music on my boss' $4000 stereo. I liked it more than he did.

Yesterday I took my mom out for dinner for her birthday, we went to the $3 Asahi place! Then we went to Fitzy's, where Dan almost cost me my lips/face/mouth with a lame bar trick.... You're supposed to knock the top of someone's bottle with the bottom of yours, and it foams up... Well this time it didn't foam, but it took a huge triangle shaped chunk of glass out of the rim of the bottle, and I would cut myself up really bad. I caught it in time though, and I got a free beer out of it, it could've been awful though.

Abbie's hair is growing in. It looks super hot. We're getting married. haha.

I'll put some pictures up later, or next week or whenever I feel like it.
